Job Description

We are one of Europe's leading independent manufacturers of high-quality ventilation and building products and we are looking for an accomplished Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager. Based from our office in Northampton and reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will be tasked with the further development of our commercial purchasing function. BASIC SALARY: £35,000 - £40,000 BENEFITS: · Company Bonus · Pension · Death in Service LOCATION: Northampton COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Rugby, Coventry, Leicester, Daventry, Bedford, Banbury, Leamington Spa JOB DESCRIPTION: Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer - building products / ventilation The primary focus of the Purchasing Manager role is to run the purchasing team and manage all direct and indirect spend. We pride ourselves on treating our suppliers like we do our customers. Strong relationships are at the centre of our business, and we treat all our external partners in the same fashion. In additional we will be looking for the Senior Buyer to: · Manage and develop existing purchasing staff · Manage a total spend of circa £3.5 Million · Negotiate and agree contracts · Analyse and manipulate data to management information and reports · Monitor supplier performance, including conducting supplier site audits · Building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing suppliers This is a genuine opportunity to bring about change if change is required. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer - building products / ventilation Ideally you will be a purchasing professional looking for the next step in your career with a market leading business. You will also be: · A qualified (by education or experience) Purchasing Manager / Senior Buyer with experience of managing / supervising staff who look after a combined budget of at least £3.5Million · A strong negotiator with experience of contract negotiation and management · Proficient with excel · Highly organised with a high level of attention to detail THE COMPANY: One of Europe's leading manufacturers of sustainable building solutions.
