2 X Signalling Designers needed - Remote Working
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
· All-round underpinning knowledge of signalling design principles, standards, components, and fabrication methods.
· Basic knowledge of railway systems, (and the key interactions between other railway assets), and with railway operating practices.
· Working with only limited supervision. Has an area of responsibility clearly defined and liaises with senior staff.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
· Hands-on experience of the production of signalling design throughout GRIP stages 2 to 5 and calculations. Other railway design experience within the rail industry will be an advantage.
· Significant experience in the use of signalling software packages (Plans, Gwire, etc) will be an advantage.
· Knowledge of RRI or Mechanical or SSI systems, ideally all three. Basic knowledge of the design of other systems or Data Prep. would be an advantage.
· Some experience of signalling construction methods and installation would be a benefit.
Qualifications:
· IRSE Licence 1.1.510 Signalling Designer
· Ideally, an associate member of the IRSE and developing towards achieving Incorporated Engineer
· Appropriate National Certificate (NC) or Higher qualification would be a benefit
