Job Description

CAD Technician - Construction sector Focused on pre-construction site-based work, carrying out the drawings for the logistics' and compound set up on future sites. Location: Gravesend Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 basic + Package (Freelance would be considered for a 3-month contract until a permanent person is recruited.) PLEASE NOTE: Immediate requirement Due to a full order book for the next 18 months, this contractor is looking for additional support in their design team. Someone to support both the pre-construction and the project delivery team with the site compound and access lay-out designs. Purely working in the construction sector, you will need to have experience with the logistical design of a site compound. Understanding the different elements of a project from the size of the site, location of the offices, access for both people and materials through to the day today logistics and truck access for delivering and waste removals. This process starts off in Sketch-up or 2D drawings where you will visit the site with the Project Manager to understand the lay out and potential issues. Then leasing with the team to create the compound design, highlighting the pedestrian routes, access, emergency exits, plant movement area, office and utilities connections etc.. Once a the 2D drawing has been approved moving this in to creating a 3D site map for the internal teams and external client. Day to day duties could include: - Preparing detail design drawings and design documentation for PM's and Design Engineers. Updating design drawings to 'As Built' status from field reports and red line drawings. Ensure all work is carried out within designated KPI's The future progression of this role would see you moving in to a Structural engineer. Experience: Experience of Computer Aided Design - (AutoCAD) Working in the construction sector so you understand what and how a site compound should look like. Full driving licence as you will need to go on site visits as require although most of the work will be home based. To Apply: You must be authorised to live and work in the UK.
