Permanent Construction Civil Engineer Project Manager Architect and Design

Job Description

Our client is one of the UK’s specialist civil engineering contractors. As a result of a £165 million design and build award they are now looking to recruit a Senior Planning Engineer to join a unique project in Teeside. Ideally you will have progressed from site based engineering into planning and both a civils and/or an M&E background will be considered. About The Opportunity This work involves specialist capabilities including the design & build of structural steelwork, cladding, piling and material handling equipment/ conveyors. The overall project value will be circa £165 million. As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will be working collaboratively with both the Internal and external Design and Procurement teams to implement robust pre-construction programmes. You will also develop and lead the construction programme development interacting with all Group companies to help deliver amazing environments whilst being responsible for mentoring, coaching and managing others The planning function is key to the success of a project - planning and sequencing the permanent works, logistics and temporary works phasing, engaging their project teams in BIM and leading the industry in planning world class projects. Responsibilities include; Pre Contract Planning & Work Winning Commercial acumen Digital Engineering / BIM Engineering – knowledge of engineering principles and temporary works Managing and leading others Engaging with design and procurement teams Understanding consents and approvals required The individual You will have robust Engineering (site-based) experience, preferably at Project Engineer/Project Manager level on large multi-disciplinary projects, ideally within a main contractor or principal contractor environment. Demonstrable Design and Build experience as well as planning experience. You will also have sound knowledge of construction methodologies and understand sequencing of works with an eye for detail and working collaboratively
