Mechanical Estimator

Mechanical Estimator - Circa £50,000 The company: One of our great clients in Essex is now recruiting for a Mechanical estimator to join their team, reporting directly to the estimating manager. My client is a well-established Design and Build contractor and a great place to work at. The company has been extremely busy recently working mainly within commercial fit out sector in the London area. The team is approximately around 25 people in the Engineering department and the company has got a good potential pipeline for the coming months. The role of Mechanical Estimator: The estimator will work within the estimating department, estimating mechanical services within all aspects of commercial sector The role is to produce accurate estimates on time for adjudication and to negotiate successful tenders through to hand-over with the delivery teams, to enable the Company to fulfil its business objectives.Key Responsibilities: To review and assess the tender documentation and requirements to enable production of successful tenders To identify and report on risk and opportunity/scope To obtain a suitable number of competitive quotations and compare on a like for like basis To work collaboratively as a key member of the bid team Make sure that tenders take in to account health and safety, quality and environmental legislation as well as compliant with the company policies and procedures To produce accurate net estimates with full breakdowns for adjudication To seek value engineering & advantage through tender process The skills: Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience as an estimator Excellent Customer Service, interpersonal and communication skills Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office
