AREA BUILDING CONTROL SURVEYOR
BROMLEY
£27-28 HOURLY RATE
MONDAY - FRIDAY- 9AM - 5PM
3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT (POSSIBILITY OF BEING EXTENDED)
IMMEDIATE START
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide management and control in the administration and enforcement of the Building Act, Building Regulations and allied legislation to ensure an adequate standard of construction, with regard to public health and safety, in respect of the built environment within the geographical area of the Borough.
THE AREA BUILDING CONTROL SURVEYOR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
To examine plans and details submitted under the Building Regulations, check for compliance with the requirements of those Regulations and allied legislation
Inform applicants in writing and prepare a schedule of amendments of the Building Regulations shown on the submitted plans and list any additional information that is required to determine compliance.
Carry out any discussions that may subsequently prove necessary to ensure that the minimum standards set down in Building Regulations are met.
Recommend for Approval or Rejection of proposals following the examination and consultations outlined above by the required performance standard dates
Provide advice and guidance to members of the public, Surveyors, Architects, and Solicitors etc on all aspects of Building Regulations
Carry out regular site inspections in respect of works in progress to ensure that the works accord with the approved plans and are in conformity with the requirements of the Building Regulations.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
Experience in Local Authority building control work
Experience in carrying out site inspections
Experience dealing with domestic, commercial and industrial applications
Have good knowledge on The Building Act 1984 and relevant sections
A full UK driver's license
