The role

The purpose of this role is to carry out day to day repairs and maintenance to our client’s housing stock. There will also be a necessity to be available for the out of hours cover on a rota system.

It has the following main responsibilities;

• Ensuring the satisfaction of the customer by having a right first-time approach to all jobs
• Carrying out work as per the Risk Assessments and Method Statements issued by Silcoa
• Ensuring the working environment is compliant with all Health & Safety matters
• Coordinating with other operatives and subcontractors on site and working with a team player approach.
• Following work instructions efficiently and carry out works required as detailed in the instruction

What they need

For this role you’ll need to have the following skills and experience;

• An Asbestos awareness certificate (CAT A) and the asbestos removal course (CAT B).
• Experience of the removal and reinstatement of ceilings/walls containing ACM’s (asbestos containing materials).
• Experience of decoration works following reinstatement of ceilings/walls.
• Experience of working in social housing and of working in occupied homes.
• In-date training in manual handling, working at height, abrasive wheels and PASMA.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• An asbestos Medical certificate.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe practices.
