Setting-Out Engineer The Client My client is relatively new to the industry but is taking it by storm. Even under the current climate of COVID-19 this business has managed to secure over £40m worth of work meaning their order book is almost full! This company specialises in commercial build and fit out, with a belief that each project should be delivered with care, expertise and management that exceed client expectations, all whilst providing strong value for money. The Role My client is looking for a strong setting-out engineer to start work immediately on a £11m 200-bed student accommodation project in the heart of Exeter for at least a 6-month contract. The right candidate could see themselves on site for up to 12 months if they are able to assist with site management duties alongside the engineering. In order to be successful for this role, you will need to have a track record in delivering similar projects, ideally large-scale student accommodation project. Duties include accountability for the following: * Good understanding and interpolation of engineer and architects’ drawings * Able to transfer from drawings to setting out in the field accurately and clearly * Able to inspect and raise / rectify quality actions prior to concrete pours, backfill of drainage etc * Able to use key software such as Microsoft suite, AutoCad and Adobe pdf packages * Able to direct and mentor junior engineer / chainman * Able to carry out take-off of quantities for site ordering * Able to read and understand RC drawings, and experienced in standard rebar call-off procedure/methods * Good attitude and able to work as part of a team, reporting to Foreman and Site/Project Manager * Keeping up to date Quality Assurance records * Will be working with various Leica Robotic Instruments Requirements * Diploma or Degree qualification in civil engineering or similar course. * Must have current CSCS card * SMSTS (desirable) * Experience setting out on similar projects * Own kit (desirabl Package * £280 per day (PAYE Umbrella/CIS/Ltd) * 6 months + * Starting ASAP Process My client wants to move quickly on this, so please do not delay in applying.
