Job Description

Our Main Contractor client is looking to employ an experienced Buyer to help develop their newly created New Build Social Housing Division based in the West Yorkshire region. The successful applicant will have experience of negotiating for plant, materials and labour within the housing market both on a 'one off' basis and for termed period agreements ensuring that the best service is delivered for the best cost value. You must have a solid background in construction procurement with a good understanding of the buying process and contractual terminology and be active in both the West Yorkshire region and Housing market, being able to demonstrate effective decision making. Based at the Head Office, the ideal candidate with have 3 years + experience as the sole Buyer for projects up to £8M. Our client is open to applications from candidates at all levels above Assistant Buyer who are able to undertake the role effectively with support from the Commercial Director.
