The right individual for the Structural Technician position will have a background working on a range of commercial and residential projects, within a UK based Design Consultancy. Ideally the right candidate for this Structural Technician role will need to have a minimum of 2 years demonstrable experience working for UK based Consulting Engineers providing Design services within the sector, with end clients being ideally in the residential sector although other sectors including commercial, education and leisure are considered. You will need to be skilled in AutoCAD as well as having previous experience using other software to complete Structural Design on Residential and Commercial projects. Software packages that would be of particular interest would be Tekla Structural Designer, Revit Structures and Navisworks. Candidates with experience in all of these software packages would have a distinct advantage, however candidates with previous experience in AutoCAD and one other of these software packages would be considered. This excellent forward-thinking practice and entering an exciting period of extended growth, and as a result they are looking to hire another Structural Technician to support their planned further expansion of the office. The project workload is focused on residential and commercial projects, ranging from new builds through to refurbishments and extensions. The broad range of clients includes private clients as well as large multinational household names, and the successful Structural Technician will have the opportunity to work on a range of major projects with exciting remits for blue-chip clientele. This role will suit an ambitious individual who is looking to further enhance their career and progress further in the Structural Engineering sector. The role will provide the successful individual with the opportunity to take control of all aspects of projects, from initial scheme design right through to the completion of construction on site. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ previous experience as a Structural Technician and be looking to continue their career as a Structural Technician working on residential and commercial projects. The position will involve regular travel as required on an ad hoc basis in line with the projects you are working on and responsible for, and candidates must be prepared to do so where required. Relevant Job Titles: Structural CAD Technician, Structural Technician, Structural Revit Technician, Tekla Technician, Tekla Detailer, Structural Detailer Skills/Experience: * Minimum of 2 years’ experience * Advanced Engineering Certificate (Level 6) in a relevant engineering field * Excellent knowledge of Steel, Timber, Concrete and Masonry * Previous experience with RC frame design * AutoCAD * Tekla Structural Designer / Revit Structures / Navisworks * Ability to design to British Standards and / or Eurocodes * Previous experience working on Residential and Commercial Design projects
