Surfacing Supervisor

£40,000 - £45,000 (Permanent)
Surfacing / Civil Engineering
(Highways sub-contractor)
Our client, based in Bedfordshire is looking for a reliable, sub-contractor experienced and organised Surfacing Supervisor to become apart of their team on a permanent basis. The client is either a Main Contractor or Key Subcontractor partner on all projects they undertake.
Candidate Must Have:
Mainly Sub-Contractor Experience
Surfacing, Groundworks and Highway Maintenance surveying experience
Duties include:
You will be responsible for a team of road surfacing gangs coordinating and supervising all labour and materials to ensure correct day-to-day management of the company's surfacing operations.
Duties:
Supervising and monitoring all aspects of work and reporting any problems to the project manager. Compiled daily/weekly diary records, plant and labour records and photos of site.
* To maintain the Companies highest sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and management of the various projects.
* Working with and assisting with the management and administration of the construction/surfacing works in accordance with the Contract
* Assist with the recording and valuation of the work carried out.
* Monitor, the Contractors Method Statements and risk assessments and that they are adhered to.
* Ensuring that site inductions are carried out and recorded.
* Report accidents.
* Daily/Weekly site and compound inspections.
* Ensuring principal contractor submits weekly updated programme.
* Organise progress and TM meetings, also if required write minutes
* File all relevant documentation, and any health and safety file documentation.
* Ensuring that all works carried out to client design and specification
* Risk management and calculation.
* Assessing the additional cost of design variations and providing substantiation.
* Manage multiple clients and contracts
Recommended qualifications:
NRSWA
CSCS card holder
SSSTS/SMSTS
First Aid Work
Experience within a similar role. Ideally someone that has experience working within a sub-contractor environment rather than Contractor.
NEC3 / JCT experience (advantageous)
Must be flexible and able to work as part of a team and using own initiative.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages.
Literate and Numerate.
Good organisational skills and the ability to priorities.
