We are now looking for an Operations Manager to join the team, based out of Slough, in this newly created position.
Responsible for Management of telecoms FTTP infrastructure installation, including civils, cabling, splicing and testing. Co-ordinating with directly employed supervising teams, planners and street works co-ordinators & project managers, to ensure that operational programme and financial targets and deadlines are met and that the works and services are implemented in accordance with the contract requirements.
To ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe manner and in adherence to VolkerHighways accreditation responsibilities and requirements.
Skill and Experience:
Management Experience.
Understanding of cost and value
Understanding of programming and FTTP/FTTH Network Build,
Relevant Fibre and Telecoms training to current standards including splicing, patching, testing, blown fibre, single and multi-mode etc
Management techniques
Ability to use initiative & confident in decision making
Discretion and confidentiality
Good standard of English, both written and verbal
Knowledge of Deponet
Knowledge of RIDDOR
NRSWA accreditation to supervisory level
Understanding of Microsoft Office packages incl Office 365
Excellent communication and organisation skills
A positive and enthusiastic approach to work
Ability to work well under pressure
Results orientated, whilst maintaining ability to meet strict quality & H&S standards
High level of customer service for both internal and external stakeholders
