Ecologist - Planning

Looking for an experienced Ecologist to support the Somerset Ecology Service in their delivery of advice to Local Planning Authority partners. The ideal candidates will be able to comment on planning applications, to ensure that National and Local Policy is considered as well be other appropriate legislation. they should be capable of undertaking Ecological Impact Assessments if necessary, in accordance with the appropriate Regulations. There may be a need to undertake field survey work and/or interpret data that is provided from such activities. They will be required to maintain accurate records of activities and monitor information on occasion. The successful candidate will understand the Policy and Legislative framework in which we expect them to operate and will be able to work independently on tasks assigned to them. currently all staff are remote working and I would expect the candidates to be remote as well, but with sufficient support and guidance to enable effective team working
