Quantity Surveyor

A Tyne & Wear based local authority are looking for a suitably qualified Civil Quantity Surveyor / QS to work within their Civil/Highways department initially for a circa 12 month contract. You will be required to work on the local authorities varied civil projects including bridges, roads & highway structures etc and associated works. This is a key post within the Civil Surveying/Commercial Service division which is responsible for delivery of the civil structural schemes within the county, including new and revision projects. You will be responsible for carrying out the QS duties on a wide range of civil & structural projects and associated works. The successful applicant must have previous civil/structural QS experience and ideally a public sector background or previous experience. The role will be paid on an hourly rate basis circa £23 to £27 hr negotiable and paid via Umbrella. Business mileage will be paid where applicable.
