Managing Estimator

Managing Estimator required in Greenwich Our client are a medium-sized residential contractor based in South East London. They undertake both new build and refurbishment projects ranging from £2 - £20m; they build using a variety of different methods including traditional, steel and modular build. In line with their expansion plans, they’re looking to secure an experienced Managing Estimator to join their commercial team with a view to further building the pre-construction team based around the successful candidate. The role will be based in the office with the option for working remotely part-time, once settled. As a Managing Estimator, you will be able to demonstrate a track record of success whilst leading a team of Estimators. This is a hands-on role to start and for the right person will offer a very attractive remuneration package to include incentives and bonuses. Responsibilities of the Managing Estimator: * Oversee all tender and bid activity including pricing, preparation and submission, ensuring accuracy and quality, from initial enquiry and take-offs * Managing a growing team of Estimators ranging from Trainee to Senior Level * Offering guidance, advice and training as the department steadily grows around you, while maintaining a hands-on role * Provide detailed breakdowns of tenders to directors and clients * Analysis of risk and opportunity * Obtain best value sub-contract and supplier prices in order to maximise value for money within secured works * Procurement of sub-contract works including documentation and compliance * Hold and attend regular tender review meetings * Effective communication with clients, suppliers, external consultants and colleagues through to senior management.
