Permanent Construction

Job Description

I am looking for a Construction Director for my client based in Hertfordshire. They are a log established contractor with a good reputation- both with employees and their clients. This contractor has been in business for 30 years now and are still privately owned and have a small board of directors whom you will have direct contact with. Concentrating mainly on commercial groundworks this business is looking for a Construction Director with a background in this field. It is essential that your experience, particularly recent is with a specialist groundworks subcontractor. There is no point in applying without this. Ideally you will have worked with a medium sized groundworks business- my client turns over around £20-30 m per annum usually. They are making decent profit margins on this and are looking for someone to sustain this whilst increasing turnover- perhaps via branching more into residential groundworks for example. Most of this company's projects are outside London and in the Home Counties. This opportunity may well suit someone local who is no longer looking to travel into London to work. Most importantly we are looking for someone who can fit into the business as it stands and can work effectively with the close knit team there. I am not looking for someone to come in and make massive changes. More so someone who can run with the existing set up and make subtle changes where needed. Many people in this contractor have been there for 10 years plus so it is key that whoever comes into the business can 'fit in' and be aware of making the right impression with your new colleagues. There is a competitive salary and package available for this opportunity along with the chance to work with a company that I have observed to be friendly, accommodating, with low staff turnover and highly regarded by their clients. Salary and package are very negotiable depending on what you can 'bring to the table'. If this opportunity is of interest please contact me for a confidential discussion about this and other opportunities that may suit your skills, experience and aspirations
