Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Be part of a dynamic, independent design consultancy who provide M&E and building services design to the commercial, healthcare, defence sectors. Following a profitable 2019, this business is entering a period of growth and are looking for an established Senior Design Electrical Engineer for their Durham office. Suitable candidates would be qualified to Degree, or HND level in Electrical Engineering or Building Services, as well as being a member of a related professional institute (MIET or CIBSE). It's also imperative that you're a client facing individual and value the importance of building / maintaining excellent long working relationships. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct surveys and produce reliable information. • Able to approach and liaise effectively with statutory service providers. • Be familiar with codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation. • Capable of producing designs for electrical building services • Production of engineering specifications. • Conduct Feasibility Studies • Work to deadlines and alongside multi-discipline teams. • Ability to engage and co-ordinate with clients, Architects and all other stakeholders and members of the Design Team. Person Specification: • You will ideally have be either HND or degree qualified in Electrical, Building Services or similar. • Ability to use AutoCAD. • Have an understanding of BIM on relevant projects and willingness to develop & undertake the necessary CPD to ensure clear understanding of process • Have a comprehensive, current knowledge base of relevant M&E Building and infrastructure services. • Proven track record of project delivery, working to deadlines and client satisfaction. • Fully familiar with codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation • Excellent communication skills. • Client Facing • Personable with a 'can do' attitude
