Estimator

Estimator – Groundworks Chelmsford, Essex £50,000 to £70,000 plus package (DOE) IF4076 Our client is a successful civil Engineering and Groundworks contractor based in Mid Essex. The company is well established with an annual turnover in excess of £25 million. Due to organic growth the company are looking to add an experienced groundworks estimator to work on commercial and residential groundwork tenders. The company are ambitious and are looking for self-motivated individuals that can come in and hit the ground running. You will be part of an estimating team but will be working autonomously. Project sizes range from £500K to £3 million. ROLE: * Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for projects * To complete a full cost analysis of the potential project. * To prepare a groundworks bill of quantities from drawings provided. * To prepare a commercial review of contract terms. * To send tender enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers to ensure appropriate quotations are provided for projects. * To make cost effective suggestions for alternative solutions and products. * To work closely with internal teams to support the bid process and ensure all tenders are completed to the highest standard and within deadlines. CANDIDATE: * Experienced Civils / Groundworks Estimator * Proven track record working on projects in a similar role * Ideally qualified in a relevant discipline * Strong IT skills including excel and word * Experience with estimating packages essential * Knowledge of CAD desirable * Knowledge and experience of working on tenders essential * Ability to build positive and effective working relationships both internally and externally Please contact Ian Farr on (phone number removed) for more information on this and other estimating roles
