SES Water supplies 160 million litres of fresh water to over 735,000 people across Kent, Surrey and South London every day. With a rich history dating back to the mid-19th century, we began by supplying water to individual parishes before merging and expanding throughout the next 150 years until today. We now maintain over 2,000 miles of water mains and manage eight treatment works, 23 pumping stations and 31 reservoirs and water towers. Achieved through face-to-face meetings with new or existing developers/customers, you’ll complete estimates on time and with accurate costs for the Estimating Team to review and process. Learning and development plays a key role in our ongoing success. You’ll receive high-quality training from our Section Managers, which will include on-the-job training and formal training in regulations and legislation. This role has the potential to progress into a Section Manager position in the future, so the only limit to your success is your own ambition. The role: - Salary of circa £25,000 per annum - Company car - Up to 10% employer contribution towards Aviva's Group Personal Pension Plan - Free on-site parking or in local area - As a Surveyor, you will carry out a range of site surveying activities to support the successful delivery of projects. Reporting to the Section Manager, you will: - Spend approximately 60% of your time working on new build or existing sites and 40% of your time in the office carrying out admin activities - Liaise with developers, managing their expectations and time effectively to ensure surveys are competed fully - Ensure that we comply with relevant regulations - Use a meticulous approach to ensure that no details are missed Other organisations may call this role Site Surveyor, Water Utilities Surveyor, Junior Surveyor, Project Surveyor, or Quantity Surveyor. About you: Here at SES Water, experience and qualifications are useful, but they’re not everything. We recruit people based on their potential, values and fit. As a Surveyor, you will need: - Great stakeholder engagement and project management skills - A flexible approach and the ability to work in an evolving environment - Strong numeracy skills - To enjoy working as part of a friendly and fast-moving team - A water or utility background - A full, valid driving licence Previous surveying experience would be beneficial to your application, as would knowledge of water regulations or the Street Works Act.
