Senior Quantity Surveyor

Wanting to hear from Quantity Surveyors who have worked for mainly planned and reactive maintenance contractors.
My client who undertakes construction and buildings maintenance projects, operate in the public and private sector and primarily work on social housing, education, heritage listed buildings and commercial projects.
As an ambitious and growing company, they are also developing a portfolio and track record in the delivery of Listed property restoration, healthcare and leisure projects.
Overview of the role:
Assist in the management of the commercial team in the reactive and planned maintenance part of the company. Located throughout the south west with offices in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Swindon & Bristol the role will entail preparing monthly valuations using the National Housing Federation (NHF) schedule of rates or bespoke in house rates. Manage, monitor and process sub-contractor payments. Produce quotations using traditional methods and NHF. Working as part of the wider QS team, you will responsible for monitoring and managing income and expenditure across various contracts throughout the business.
Key Tasks:
* Supervision of members of the commercial team.
* Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids and tenders to demanding timescales
* Place subcontractor/large material orders while liaising with PM to ensure the most appropriate work packages are sent out
* Produce estimates/quotations using NHF SOR’s or traditional methods
* Compile variations in a timely manner to ensure client agreement
* To ensure all valuations are submitted in a timely fashion ensuring cash flow is strong at all times
* To ensure financial month end deadlines are met
* Value and authorise payments to sub-contractors
* Work closely with the project management team to ensure all contracts run well both delivery & commercially
