Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Group Fleet & Plant Manager to be based in the West Midlands for a successful group business. Responsibilities: *Ensure that Plant Hire opens and closes at agreed times. *Manage the daily operations of the Plant & Transport department (dealing with all customer requests for hire and termination requests). *Production of weekly sales and costs in a Profit & Loss Report, to be submitted to Line Managers and Company Directors by required deadline. *Ensure that phones are answered in a professional and timely manner and that the customer experience is smooth and efficient. *Ensure all Group Plant items are calibrated within dates as required *Ensuring equipment is booked to the customer and the hire contract is actually raised on the day of hire. *Ensuring that hired equipment is supplied to a satisfactory standard with correct check out sheets. *Ensuring that the building apprearance (inside & out) is maintained to a high standard *Manage mutli depot fleet requirements *Manage, oversee planning of planned preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance on all items of fleet/plant to maximise their lifespan and ensure safety. *Ensure Insurance database in maintained and upto date (MID) *Manage O Licence requirements in accordance with Highways Commissioner *Manage six weekly inspection yearly plan and ensure work is carried out *Manage trailer inspection yearly plan and ensure work is carried out *Plant / Vehicle servicing to be completed in line with Group requirements *Weekly Reporting of Plant Hire Revenue Internal and External *Plant / Fleet utilisation reporting to Senior Management Team *To make sure Plant Hire is run in a professional and efficient manner. *To make sure Plant Hire is run in conjunction with Group Quality Assurance procedures. *Identifying and proposing possible money saving/making opportunities within the Company, eg improve profitability. *Ensure that staff are trained and hold current qualifications for works been carried out. *Ensuring that training requirements are kept upto date and records kept on file. *Relevant training courses and seminars may need to be attended to keep abreast of new legislation. *Dealing with existing suppliers and approving new ones. *Ensure that staff are motivated and presenting a good Company work ethic. *Client liasion - Meeting and good Company image promotion *Hold or be in training to obtain a valid driving licence. *Manage proactively the supply chain of Plant / Vehicles and disposal / return of end of contract / life vehicles *Identifying and proposing possible money saving/making opportunities within the Company, e.g. improve profitability. *Manage unplanned work resulting from breakdowns and emergencies, making sure they are dealt with in efficient manner by prioritising as required for the provision of a 24 hour callout service.
