Senior Estimator (Civils)

A leading Civil Engineering contract from the Lancashire region are now looking for an experienced Estimator! Your new company You will be working for a well-established Civil Engineering contractor who have been running for over 25 years. They specialise in Infrastructure (roads, bridges, rail and sub-structures), and also public realm, landfill and waste projects. They work in a collaborative manner with clients which are seen as "partners" in order to maintain quality delivery & strong client relationships Typical projects they work on are car parks, highway improvements and 278 works, bridges, retaining walls, earthworks and ground remediation, reservoirs and river works and utilities schemes. Your new role As Estimator / Senior Estimator you will be working as part of an experienced team to tender for projects on the above sectors using Conquest. You will be required to: · Maintain up-to-date market knowledge of labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors · Prepare & send out sub-contract & material enquiries using conquest enquiry system · Where required produce accurate take-off using Conquest · Manage, as directed, enquiries for labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors · Price bills/schedules analytically and produce quote comparisons using conquest estimating software · Complete tender pricing for adjudication by the tender committee, including reporting on any risks or onerous conditions, providing a winning edge · Liaise with planner to assess programme & preliminaries · Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports · Applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a project. · On secured projects prepare information for handover to the contract team What you'll need to succeed You must be able to present a CV which details relevant experience within the civil engineering industry, and be able to use Conquest Estimating software What you'll get in return You will be offered a salary ranging from £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience. You will also receive either a company car or car allowance, BUPA healthcare, a fantastic company pension (I have the details) and 26 days holiday + bank holidays.
