Permanent Construction Quantity Surveyor Management

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for two Quantity Surveyors in the East Midlands on behalf of a well established Housing provider. The role will be full time and permanent. The ideal candidate will have experience within Housing and have a sound knowledge of compliance and M&E. Job purpose: - Responsible for carrying out quantity surveying functions within the asset management team including the repairs, void and planned maintenance contracts - To provide commercial insight and strategy to ensure business effectiveness and financial efficiency is achieved - To develop new ways of delivering the commercial approach to future contract performance and spend to support the contract partnership - To review budget requirements and offer support and advice to relevant budget holder on requirements and current spend profile - To work closely with the Procurement team in reviewing tender documents and offer advice on Contract selection and value for money Main accountabilities: * Lead on the cost planning and value management through the life cycle of the asset management maintenance contracts * Provide technical & commercial advice to maximise value from all asset management term contracts and technical standards * Advise on compliance with technical and contractual conditions and propose improvements * To model new ways the partnership contract could develop and provide information to support the most effective way to manage the contract. * Liaise directly with the key stakeholders and the organisation's contractors to ensure that the contract is achieving its intended goals with regard to financial and performance targets. * Ensure that the Asset Management contracts are being used in line with their original intended use and agreements and being executed correctly and are providing best use of the organisation's resources and helping to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction * Support the delivery of the Asset Management contracts by attending and informing any meetings or areas of the business as required assisting in their use. * Identify the commercial impact of proposed changes to the contracts and develop methods of ensuring value for money. Support the transition to new ways of developing the partnership contract, particularly providing analysis on the feedback from Asset Management * Provide guidance and training as necessary to staff with regard to the operation of asset management contracts to ensure efficient execution of contracts by staff Key experience and qualifications required: * Educated to degree level or equivalent with a qualification in a relevant field such as quantity Surveying or Contract Management * Experience in working in a quantity surveying role in a commercial environment * A demonstrable track record of delivering service excellence to a customer base. A record of achievement in making a difference * Good planning, budgeting, organising and prioritisation skills. Experience of keeping sound business records * Strong report writing skills. A good standard of written business English * Able to interpret financial and other systems data. * Experience managing staff in a commercial related environment * Previous experience of managing various forms of Contracts * Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word.
