Section Engineer

A successful large infrastructure organisation based on site near Gosforth in West Cumbria is looking for a Section Engineer to join its team. The culture of the company is positive and motivated. As the Section Engineer your responsibilities will include: Assisting with and helping manage the successful completion of a section of infrastructure projects. Undertaking surveying and setting out duties. Recording as built information. Checking drawings and quantities. Undertaking the testing and calibration of instruments used. Undertaking the role of Buried Service Coordinator. Mentoring and supervising the site labour force and monitoring the work of any sub-contractors. Schedule selected materials for ordering from the procurement department. Plan the work and efficiently organise site operations in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines. We are keen to speak to people about this Section Engineer role with the following skills and experience: ONC, HNC or qualified in Civil Engineering. Have experience from a civils, infrastructure background. Be confident setting out line control using robotics, GPS and total stations, taking measurements. Demonstrable experience of raising TQs and record keeping (diaries, permits to work etc.). GPR Surveys (Cat and Genny – Permits to Dig). Excavation and earthworks. Concrete and reinforcement. BIM & Drawing Control. Must be able to obtain UK Security Clearance (UK passport holder) due to the nature of the job.
