Head of Planning and Measure

Head of Planning and Measures £Negotiable plus benefits New permanent position for a large construction firm in the Cambridgeshire area. The Head of Planning and Measures will be managing the planning team (around 10) and the activities to ensure works are accurately planned, priced and payment application submitted in line with client contractual requirements and key service level agreements (SLAs) minimising excess WIP. • Manage the Measure team activities for both main build and day to day works to ensure an effective way of working is in place to prevent duplication, provision of accurate and timely measures that are used for billing and payments. Quality measures for Operations to be in place for site close down minimising additional defect costs. • Manage the close down of sites, taking ownership of reporting and providing visibility of defects, costs and plan for corrections that minimise expose for the business • Establish effective client, operational and commercial relationships creating a partnership approach that works collaboratively in identifying better ways of working to increase productivity and drive efficiencies for the mutual benefit of all parties. • Ensure works are executed in line with the planned works with deviations captured and appropriately invoiced to protect the projected margin. Regular review of deviations and root cause conducted with actions in place • Devise the department budget and resource strategy ensuring costs are appropriately managed and resource levels adequate to meet contractual obligation • Ensure the work within the department is undertaken in a safe manner and aligned to policies and procedures with consistent application of the performance management framework across the department supported by training and development plans. • Lead the department in line with our clients values actively taking the time to routinely give feedback that recognises good performance and constructively intervenes on poor performance.
