Job Description

Having secured a £30M valued contract under a major Oxford University works framework this highly regarded main contractor have identified the need to recruit an additional 2 Site Managers to join their site based management team. Both Site Managers will be required to join the team from late August / Early September this year and the contract has an expected duration to October 2021, however these are permanent, career based positions as the region of this sought after main contractor are securing and are expected to win further contracts under the framework. One Site Manager will have a detailed and recently demonstrable experience in liaising with English Heritage on listed properties. It is imperative that candidates have a recent track history of leading refurbishment schemes on property which has a close alliance with English Heritage and all the relevant rules and regulations in accordance with undertaking work on listed property. The ability to accurately and timely communicate is of paramount importance. The second Site Manager will need to be able to demonstrate a clear and credible capability of overseeing, prioritising and sequencing a number of smaller valued individual packages of works. You will have a strong methodology of managing logistics whilst simultaneously maintaining the ability to understand that specialist contractors may offer a method of operations which needs to be considered and adapted to suit the project programme. It is vital you are able to operate collaboratively but maintain an overall necessity for the main contractor to remain true to the time and budgetary constraints to ensure delivery. Both roles will require a track history of employment on behalf of main contractors operating on similar scaled schemes, you will possess CSCS, SMSTS and 1st Aid accreditation and hold health and safety in the highest regard. In addition and in line with current Covid-19 / social distancing regulations, you will also possess a high respect to maintain and promote social distancing. This main contractor have been widely publicised for all the right reasons over recent months, have announced no redundancies, continued to recruit throughout the crisis, have utilised staff from other regions and no single operational employee was asked to take a drop in remuneration throughout the lock-down period. 100% of their sites are open but it is also fair to state that across the piste their projects are running at an average of 70% operational capacity.
