Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a number of Planning Engineers on behalf of one of our clients.
To provide support to bid teams through the provision of efficient and effective planning and scheduling. You will also provide support to the project management team through the provision of an efficient and effective planning, scheduling and project performance reporting function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Update and monitor progress within the working programme and provide coaching to others.
Introduce experience and change into a programme.
Ability to resource and cost load programmes.
Have an understanding of the introduction & evaluation of risk in programmes.
Using appropriate methods to check programme robustness.
Ability to provide routine and one-off programme outputs.
Tender specific planning skills.
Assimilate and interpret information from tender documentation.
Contribute to bid winning strategy.
Develop programme structure and content independently working with bid team.
Ensure communication & transfer of knowledge.
Contribute to tender written submission.
Any other duties consistent with your status and seniority, as necessary to meet the needs of the Business of the Company.
Develop & maintain effective working relationships
Ability to produce and communicate programme information in a variety of forms.
Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrable, broad understanding and working knowledge of construction methods and outputs.
Previous experience as Planning Engineer is essential.
Civil Engineering or construction qualification.
Broad range of experience in a wide range of civil engineering construction, to sub agent level at least, with sound commercial knowledge.
Contractual understanding particularly of NEC form of contract.
Proven understanding of commercial and contractual requirements.
Proven skills in planning software, principally P6.
Thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques.
Give advice and support on short term programmes to construction teams.
Understand how to make an analytical assessment of programmes.
Ability to evaluate supply chain programmes.
Understand and comply with business processes and systems.
Ability to work to defined timescales.
Establish and maintain Internal and External Project Controls reporting.
Ability to use Chain/in k, Titos, and PRA and 40 softwares is desirable.
Ability to use other planning software MSP, Asta PP is desirable.
