Permanent Construction Quantity Surveyor Civil Engineer Estimator

Job Description

Our client is one of the UK's leading construction companies, the company offers extensive specialist services nationally and internationally, ranging from £5k to £10m through a well-established and valued client base including; local authorities, government bodies, healthcare trusts, utility companies, developers and main contractors The company are recruiting for a Trainee Estimator. Based at Head Office in Birmingham, the Trainee Estimator will assist the estimating team pricing demolition, decommissioning and remediation sub-contract packages. Duties and Responsibilities: • Assisting the Estimating and Bid Teams to produce accurate quotations from drawings • Submit tender returns • Learn to understand basic bills of quantities • Identify tender requirements for specific materials and quantities • Prepare enquiries to obtain material and quotations • Data input and use of tendering systems • Liaise with other departments and clients to ensure tenders and all works are in line with the clients specifications • Working to tight tender submission deadlines Experience Required: • 1 - 2 years previous experience of working within the construction industry, preferably with a groundworks or civil engineering contractor (other sectors will also be considered) • Previously worked as a Junior/Trainee Quantity Surveyor or Estimator • Have knowledge and an interest in the construction industry, may currently be studying a course in building • Team player • Can do attitude motivated to succeed, proactive and up for a challenge • Trustworthy, reliable, accurate, organised and dependable This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that can offer opportunities for career progression, great company, great people and working environment.
