Estimator - Permanent Position

Optima is seeking an experienced Estimator on behalf of our client. The client is a long-established carpentry & joinery specialist sub-contractor, with over 45 years’ experience and a proven track record in both first & second fix carpentry, fit-out and purpose made joinery. The likely candidate will either come from or have experience in both 1st & 2nd fix carpentry & joinery. The successful applicant will be based at our office in Surrey, but with occasional site travel to projects. Responsibilities will include: · Assist with the estimating team where required on new tenders, · Compiling take-offs, · Price variations and assess the value of subcontract values, · Work in close partnership with Project Teams, · Pursuing main contractors for new tenders, · Buying and procuring of materials, Job hoppers and freelancers will not be considered. The correct candidate will be from a respectable and stable working background of at least 2 years held within a previous carpentry and joinery main contractor.
