Assistant Buyer

A superb opportunity for a Junior or Assistant Buyer to forge a long term career with one of the regions leading construction companies. Company The company delivers a wide spectrum of construction disciplines being demolition, civil engineering, road construction, asbestos removal, building and bulk earthworks. In addition to this it also operates two asphalt production facilities and carries out property development. Role This role will be an integral member of the procurement team and duties include: Obtaining quotes from existing and approved suppliers. Assisting with the day-to-day purchasing of all construction site materials through a number of established supply chains. Negotiating best price on all purchases Sourcing and appointing alternative suppliers as necessary. Ordering all PPE Stock Control of PPE Working with Group Buyer and Site Managers to ensure materials are ordered and delivered in a timely manner Matching invoices /resolving invoice queries with suppliers Experience Required The successful applicant will already possess experience within a buying role, ideally within a construction environment. Remuneration Up to £25,000 plus package to be discussed upon application.
