I am currently recruting for a Supply Chain Manager to join a successful Construction business, based in the West Midlands.
Supply Chain Manager role within a utilities or construction environment is essential.
This is a new role within the business and is pivitol. A fantastic opportunity for the right individual.
Job Role
Responsible for overseeing and managing the Company’s overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations to maximise process efficiency, productivity and value for money. Working with the Procurement Manager to source the right products and services at the best price and generate and record savings through effective supply chain management.
Specific responsibilities / tasks
·Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
·Negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers
·Build and maintain excellent relationships with vendors
·Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams
·Work with Procurement, Finance and Operations to determine the best vendors and distributors
·Plan and implement logistics strategy, ensuring targets are met
·Develop a supplier and contractor base that reflects the needs of the Group and mitigate supplier risk
·Oversee product storage, handling and distribution
·Ensure all supply chain activities are carried out in an ethical and controlled manner in line with the Company’s
·Ensure that third party suppliers and contractors work in alignment the safety, health, environment and quality practices and standards
·Advise and contribute to bid development and tender opportunities
·Use computer software to track goods from origin to delivery
·Produce forecasts and inventories, keeping accurate record of the process and analysing performance
·Improve overall supply chain performance and suggest solutions for process improvements
·Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
·Train and evaluate others
·Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends in the sector
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
·Previous working experience in a Supply Chain Manager role within a utilities or construction environment is essential
·Hands on experience with supply chain management software
·Ability to solve problems and make decisions, think laterally and offer alternative solutions problem solving skills
·Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal / external directors and teams, suppliers and clients.
·Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
·Strong planning, organising and time management skills
·Team Player
·An understanding of contract and commercial law including contractual terms and conditions
·Relevant degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Finance or a similar field
