Civil Site Supervsor - Civil Inspector

A regional Local Authority are keen to secure a suitably experienced Civil Engineer / Civil Supervisor / Civil Inspector for an initial 4 month contract, completing asset inspection and site control. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate significant experience in Highway construction, asset inspection and supervision. Have a working knowledge of Highways England asset referencing. Ideally have a working knowledge of asset database management Experience of Symology asset management systems. Role: Site Supervisor/Asset Inspector- Highways (Full-time, potential out of hours and overtime working) Duties and key result areas: *  Act as Supervisor to workforce and contractors during routine and planned works on the A69 Trunk Road *  Inspect and record asset features/condition for inclusion into A69 management system *  Take responsibility for day to day workload and staffing issues *  Co-ordinate and make best use of available resources to ensure the economic and timely delivery of routine and planned works *  Deliver inductions and training to workforce in the form of ‘tool box talks’ *  Ensure compliance with health and safety and employment legislation, including CDM regulations, through procedures and safe methods of working *  Monitor relevant financial budgets and delivery of programmes *  Ensure that prevailing legislation and best professional practice are reflected in the standards and values of activities undertaken *  Represent North Pennine Link Group at a range of meetings related to the contract *  Any other duties of a similar nature and level may be required from time to time. The necessity to perform duties at a lower level of responsibility is not precluded *  Provide solutions to problems and identify areas of improvement and potential savings to be made on the contract *  Foster a team working environment amongst workforce and contractors The duties and responsibilities highlighted in this Job Description are indicative and may vary over time. Qualifications:  HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent  UK Driving Licence Experience:  Demonstrate significant experience in Highway construction, asset inspection and supervision. Experience in Highway asset inspections,  In the use of Highways England asset referencing  In asset database management  In the use of Symology asset management systems  Ability to set-out and provide line/level information to contractors  Ability to agree quantities and valuations with contractors Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
