COST ENGINEER (PHARMACEUTICAL) A global Pharmaceutical company, a titan of the industry, have an urgent requirement for an experienced and German-speaking Cost Engineer to join a large programme of works on their major site in Central Germany over the next 18 months, starting from the week beginning the 11th May. The Cost Engineer Role The Cost Engineer will be engaged onsite in Hessen (initial remote working possible), with responsibility for developing and implementing Cost Control procedures for a single large project, as well as for multiple smaller workstreams across the site, liaising with contractors and subcontractors, as well as internal stakeholders, to ensure the on-budget delivery of this programme of works. Day-to-day, you can expect to have the following responsibilities: 1. Represent the customer cost controller on project site 2. Improve / Develop cost control procedure 3. Integrate Engineering Office cost report into costumer cost report / improve structure and make it more lean, reduce amount of xls tables in use 4. Lead operational cost controlling with the interfaces of the Global cost controller and Engineering office cost controller with, for example, the following tasks: · Ensure correct allocation of Budgets, Purchase orders and Forecasts · Lead monthly reviews with interfaces (global interface and Engineering office) · Lead monthly discipline cost reviews · Lead other cost reviews · Ensuring correctness of overall cost report · Align with Scheduling on cost development over time · Align with contract management on correctness of forecast for potential claims. Requirements for the Cost Engineer To qualify, this company are looking for an experienced candidate in the field who can make a strong and independent start, possibly working remotely (due to travel restrictions) at first and so with a high degree of self-efficacy. Further than that, the Cost Engineer should have: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in CAPEX cost control in the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Petrochemical or related sectors. Fluency in German and English Strong people skills Very competent when using Microsoft Excel and SAP Financials and next steps In return, there is an all-inclusive hourly rate of €80 per hour on offer, as well as the chance to develop experience with one of the biggest names in the industry – contracts may be renegotiated upwards after the initial 12 month period.
