Job Description
Our client are an established specialist national contractor who operate both a principle and subcontractor, They have successfully trading for the past 30 years and part of a group, they are currently looking to engage on a Freelance / Fixed Term Contract basis a CRE (Contractors Responsible Engineer) from June 2020 for a period of 6 months, based on a project in Taunton.
The role will report into a site based Project Manager and require planning, management and carrying out the site CRE activities to include;
Maintain quality records and photographs demonstrating that all works have been carried out in accordance with AFC drawings and specifications.
Review and authorise all Works Package plans, method statements and risk assessments.
To assist the site team to ensure that all project activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the Group Health and Safety Procedures, Network Rail and GWR procedures.
Complete Grip 7 handover documents for project to be taken into use.
Key Accountabilities
* Review all Works Package Plans and authorise regularly review onsite activities to ensure that work is being carried out in accordance with the approved WPP.
* Maintain WPP register.
* Carry out Quality checks to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with AFC drawings and specifications.
* Maintain quality records.
* Take and maintain record photographs, cataloguing and referencing location and date of all photographs, taking particular care to record construction that is covered up in the final condition.
* Raise NCR’s, issue and close out of all NCR’s, ensuring and design changes are approved.
* Check, sign and date all as built drawings and records.
* Seek guidance from CEM where required and liaise with CRE for other disciplines and design.

* Establish and maintain good working relationships with the Client and Network Rail, their staff and professional team to promote future opportunities for repeat business.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties deemed to be within your capability, as required by the site team or project director.
* Accurate and timely feedback of positive and negative issues to improve future development and commercial opportunities for the business.

Site Manager Daily Co-ordination of site activities and planning
Site Engineer Daily Assist in record keeping, as built records etc
Other discipline CRE’s As required Disciplinary co-ordination
Sisk Project Managers & staff As Required Quality checks and project handovers
GWR Project Managers and staff As required Quality checks and project handovers
Network Rail construction managers, As required Quality checks and project handovers
Designers As required Design information and design change control.
Possess good computer skills and competent in the use of email, word and excel

Must have experience in the role of CRE for piling, groundwork, drainage, erection of steel framed structures & PCC frames and cladding systems.
Planning, control & reporting
Operate to a quality system.
Ability to write reports
CSCS Qualification - Gold- Site Surveyor or equivalent management level qual.
SMSTS or SSSTS
First Aid qualification
