Job Description

Role:  Project Manager – Waltham Cross – High-rise Residential Projects

My client is an AIM listed new homes and apartments developer that delivers high quality mixed-tenure developments around London.

Job Purpose: To manage and take overall control of the delivery of a single large project. To lead on all construction matters through all stages of design, procurement and construction, focusing on the delivery of the project to a high quality in terms of workmanship, programme and within agreed budgets.

•    Lead by  Example

 

 

Act as the H&S interface with third parties

•      All incidents are reported and managed appropriately  

 

Attend 1/4ly Health & Safety forums and communicate content to their project team

•      All site members are familiar with the current safety trend analysis

 

•    All team members are aware of the latest H&S

policies and procedures

Attend Health & Safety training as needed and maintain the minimum level of qualification the position requires •      Qualifications are relevant and always up to date

Quality and Delivery

Oversee construction, ensuring works are carried out to meet NHBC and building control standards, are in accordance with the drawing specification and contract documents and the highest standards of quality and workmanship are maintained  

 

•      Site teams understand the overall plan and their role within that

•      All projects are completed by  the original contract completion date

•      Design and procurement schedule complies with construction programme

Produce Project Programmes, communicate this to site teams to implement and regularly monitor and report on progress  

 

Lead the development and production of Scope of Works

•      All contractors understand what is expected of them Attend and contribute to package and procurement reviews as appropriate  

 

•    Achievement of procurement schedule dates

Assist the Technical Manager with design coordination and buildability and attend design meetings to ensure

 

complete and correct information is issued

 

 

•      All technical issues are resolved and work is carried out to the correct specification

 

 

Lead and monitor the installation of utilities

•       Ensure all statutory utilities are installed to comply with the programme Oversee and monitor requisition of materials and plant

 

and the schedule and call off of deliveries by  the site team

•      Suitable call offs in place. Weekly plant and materials records kept up to date Assist in the appointment of subcontractors during the construction and tender phase and assess suitability of:

 

−    Health & Safety

−    Quality

−    Programme compliance

−    Design and procurement resources

 

 

 

 

•    All due diligence carried out during the process

 

 

 

Monitor implementation of site QA procedures

•       Ensure adequate  QA checks are carried out and recorded

 

•      Remedial works completed and closed out to the appropriate standard

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

 

 

Experience Skills and Qualifications •     A track record of successful delivery of projects

 

•        Broad range of construction experience including main contract and mixed tenure private/affordable apartment developments (desirable not essential)

•     Experience across a variety of construction types

•     Proven experience of managing a team of people

•      The ability to control costs, timing and quality, in line with targets

•     Educated to degree level – desirable

 

•     Appropriate CSCS card

•      SMSTS certificate

•     First Aid at Work certificate

•      Valid driving licence

•      Basic knowledge of ASTA Power Project is desirable

•      MCIOB – desirable but not essential
