You will be No1 on the project working as a Senior Site Manager with supporting managers in due course, reporting to the Operatons. Theproject is an 80 bed care home, which is RC Frame construction with sheet piling and large retaining wall to stablise the sloping site. The projects has a £4M M&E package including air con and sprinkler system, so an understanding on these elements is essential. The overall scheme is a £16M D&B Contract.
The Role
Main Responsibilities include:
Liaise with all other departments, to ensure cost effective delivery of the project
Provide clear leadership, direction and motivation to all staff within the department to ensure that work programmes are fulfilled in accordance with the budgets/forecasts.
Ensure layouts, including roads, sewers and open spaces are designed effectively and sensitively to maximise profitability.
Ensure that roads, sewers and open spaces are adopted as soon as possible in order to minimise the financial expenditure.
Ensure the companies Best Practice Operation and Procedure Guide is implemented and adhered to.
Liaise with all departments to advise on buildability, costs, risk, quality and any design issues.

The Project
You will be No1 on the project working as a Senior Site Manager with supporting managers in due course, reporting to the Operatons. Theproject is an 80 bed care home, which is RC Frame construction with sheet piling and large retaining wall to stablise the sloping site. The projects has a £4M M&E package including air con and sprinkler system, so an understanding on these elements is essential. The overall scheme is a £16M D&B Contract.
The Role
Main Responsibilities include:
Liaise with all other departments, to ensure cost effective delivery of the project
Provide clear leadership, direction and motivation to all staff within the department to ensure that work programmes are fulfilled in accordance with the budgets/forecasts.
Ensure layouts, including roads, sewers and open spaces are designed effectively and sensitively to maximise profitability.
Ensure that roads, sewers and open spaces are adopted as soon as possible in order to minimise the financial expenditure.
Ensure the companies Best Practice Operation and Procedure Guide is implemented and adhered to.
Liaise with all departments to advise on buildability, costs, risk, quality and any design issues.
Challenge critical stages in the process where 'bottlenecks' appear to ensure that issues are being resolved, with particular attention paid to delays being incurred between purchasing land and starting on site.
Management of all sub contractors, with overall responsibility for QA, Programme and H&S.
About You
You must live within 1 hr of Eastbourne currently
Candidates will require relevant role and project experience.
Stable employment history - The company will not consider somebody who has changed jobs every year or two
Be able to interpret construction drawings and designs.
Strong man-management skills.
Excellent organisation skills.
Good level of IT literacy.

The role is on site for a technically challenging and striking project in Brighton
With a number of RC framed blocks and communal areas you will be site based for the duration of the project.
Reporting to the senior project manager and liaising with the site delivery team and client for the scheme you will be looking after the day to flow of information from dealing with the projects client architect to the construction and engineering leads for each part of the business.
Managing the required areas of construction, fit out and external cladding you will assist the site based team to coordinate construction of the project over the construction period to achieve and on time and high quality result for the client.
Duties will include:
*Management of the design development for packages or sections of works;
*Chairing regular design team meetings;
*Management of consultant design team;
*Regular liaison with client, architect, consultants and the construction teams;
*Managing specialist sub-contractor design teams;
*Agreement of information required schedule; Ensuring key dates achieved;
*Dealing with local authorities to achieve planning permissions;
*Review of construction design information for buildability, compliance with contractors proposals, employers requirements, budget, current building legislation, etc;
*Identifying opportunities for value engineering opportunities where appropriate;
*Proactive issue resolution;
*Overall managing the smooth and timely delivery of detailed design information for procurement and construction throughout the preconstruction and build process.
Candidates will have professional background weather in architecture. Or engineering and a steady work history for main contractors / residential schemes on live sites for schemes in excess of £10 million from start to finish .
Candidates must be fully conversant with building regulations and modern fire stopping / safety critical information on high rise projects in the last few years and be able to lead the team on this front
A minimum of 5 years live site experience along with an engineering or architectural degree /BSC qualified background is desirable alongside a real willingness to progress
