Quantity Surveyor Job Type: Permanent Start date: As soon as possible Industry: Building and Construction Location: Newton Abbot Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 + car/allowance, bonus, BUPA, pension ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION: Daniel Owen are a recruitment company that specialise in placing people within the building and construction, engineering, rail & maintenance industries. We are currently recruiting on behalf of award winning fit-out and refurbishment contractor for the leisure industry. It is a truly exciting opportunity to get involved in all sorts of projects that have "leisure" tag on them - casinos, theatres, high-end restaurants, theme parks, member clubs, etc. Their current turnover is currently £40m, with project values ranging from £0.5m to £6m each. Due to company growth, our client is looking for Quantity Surveyor to join their busy team in Newton Abbot. Experienced in interior, fit-out and/or commercial sector would be advantageous but not necessary. Most importantly, they are looking for bright individual who is able to think quickly on their own feet, able to liaise with clients, other surveyors and consultants, and manage projects of similar value. Daily responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor will include: * Reporting into Commercial Manager and carry out: * Monthly CVR's * Managing sub-contractor accounts * Pricing variations and valuations * Working to schedule of rates * Helping with procurement of sub-contractor, etc. Requirements for the role of Quantity Surveyor: * Previous surveying experience (minimum 5 years) * BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying * Ideally working towards CIOB or RICS accreditation * Relevant CSCS Card and full UK Driving Licence * Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and presentation skills If you feel you would be well-suited for this position please apply, or contact Simona for more information (Apply online only) or e-mail
