SITE ENGINEER – HIGHWAYS – MAIN CONTRACTOR - STRUCTURES HUNTINGDON - Contract – 3 Months rolling (3 Year project) £250 - £280 per day THE PROJECT This opportunity is going to see you working for a leading civil engineering contractor on one of the most prestigious highways projects in the UK this decade. The scheme is expected to continue beyond 2020 – and you’re going to want this on your CV! It is going to have its challenges and there will be some tricky situations for you to manage but working on major scheme like this will develop your skill set and give you the tools to progress your career. THE COMPANY This joint venture is being spearheaded by the top names in the civil infrastructure industry each involved in a wide range of projects from road, rail, structures, water, utilities, communication and aviation. If you’re looking to advance your career these guys have them. There is plenty of scope for you to improve your working knowledge and project experience by working on a host of new schemes in new sectors if that is something you wish for. REQUIREMENTS As I mentioned this is a great opportunity to work on one of the UK’s largest highways projects and will run until at least 2020. I should mention that you are going to need experience working on civil structures schemes (Such as bridges or tunnels) as well as a HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering (or similar) qualification as well as having a strong background (5 years at a minimum) of being Site Engineer working for main contractors. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE If you like working on major projects on long term contracts and for a main contractor, this is the ideal role for you! It won’t be a walk in the park but it will be worth it when it’s done, after all you will have directly improved the landscape for the area for years to come and in return you’re going to be well looked after whilst on the project. THE JOB Day to day you are going to be coordinating and supervising temporary works, identifying risk areas, coordinating the setting out, managing the site engineering team, resource planning, quality checking, test/inspection planning, supervising the subcontractors and assisting the Site Manager.
