Job Description
My Client offers a contracting & fit-out service for the luxury hospitality, prime residential and commercial sectors.
The need now exists for a Senior Estimator to join the well-established business and work on projects within London and the South East of England.
Job Summary:
• Advise Preconstruction Director of any business opportunities or improvements/innovation for the Company
• Review the status of workload, regional requirements, etc with your team at regular departmental meetings
Pre tender
• Manage the development of sound, robust and long term relationships with Clients and Design Teams in line with the general company strategy
• Assist/Manage the production of tender documents
• Attend pre-tender interviews where required
• Provide information to the submissions department as may be requested
Estimating
• Prepare and lead the compilation of tenders
• Give instruction to your tender team, and any junior members assigned to your department or team
• Advise the Preconstruction Director of any tendering difficulties that you or your team are experiencing
• Prepare material in the agreed format for presentation
• Develop client and consultant relations, including the management of their expectations
• Evaluate risk and prepare a register in conjunction with others
• Comply with estimating processes to ensure it complies with current business processes
• Work in conjunction with administration staff in preparation of the estimate
• Obtain feedback on both successful and unsuccessful tenders
• Provide input to the handover process from estimating to contract
• Input into the review of supply chain members
• Input into innovation (”finding the edge”)
• Attend meetings with Client, Designers, Quantity Surveyor’s, etc where necessary
• Carry out negotiations with Clients and/or their representatives within the parameters set out by the management of the Company
Qualifications:
• Appropriate academic and construction qualifications
Experience:
• Experience of Tendering new build projects up to £15million in value
• Detailed knowledge of construction in both new and refurbishment work.

• Candidate must be able to work to strict deadlines.
• Strong personnel skills
• Commercially aware
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High level of computer literacy
• User of Microsoft Excel to an advanced level, so as to be able to produce spreadsheets to a high level of proficiency
