Role Description
A Document Controller is required to work on a major project within the Build sector for Carillion Construction.
Responsibilities will include:
*Create and maintain a filing system that supports efficient information management while also ensuring their accuracy, quality and integrity.
*Ensure that all documents are well checked and submitted with on time prior to the documents submission due date. It is the responsibility of a document controller to edit documents that have typographical errors and other types of errors that may lead to the disqualification of a document.
*Effectively follow the company's standard operating procedures in the submissions and distribution of documents.
*Scan, image, organize and maintain documents, adhering to the company's document lifecycle procedures, and archive inactive records in accordance with the records retention schedule.
*Requests for information, from employees or clients and maintain the requests via tracking logs.
*Record retention policies, safeguard information and retrieve data more effectively.
*Might be responsible for training employees on records management procedures and policies, which include documentation, retention, retrieval, destruction and disaster recovery.
*Assist with file migrations and audits, and perform administrative tasks as needed.
*Monitor regulatory activity to maintain compliance with records and document management laws.
*Responsible to assist Design Manager with monitoring the performance of the Design Team including preparation and dispatch of project reports to the relevant team members and other parties
Required Experience
You must have strong interpersonal, customer services and communication skills and be able to prioritize workload, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot. You must also be computer literate and well-versed in Microsoft Office products and Document Management System software 4 Projects. A background in construction is preferred.
