Job Description

We have a fantastic new opportunity with one of our well established clients in Essex. They are currently recruiting for a Logistics Planner to coordinate and control all the inbound logistics to the project site. Key Responsibilities • Monitor route timing and allotment of runs to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines • Time management and the ability to handle a complex workload is essential • Plan, organise and manage the routing of deliveries and collections to meet the requirements of the business and customers • Manage the full transport sales / delivery process • Manage inbound delivery schedule for all external suppliers • Manage inbound delivery schedule from mega hub facility to the project site • Manage multiple customer relationships to ensure an ongoing positive partnership • Foster and promote a behavioural ‘safety first’ culture in which employees are risk aware and striving to achieve ‘Target Zero’, ultimately creating a safe environment for colleagues, customers and supplier. • Promote a positive company image at all times and be responsible for the upkeep and condition of any Company property allocated in the course of carrying out the job • Demonstrates a desire to continually improve personal performance • Demonstrates a high level of customer focus • Ability to work flexibly within a small team. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required • Awareness of transport legislation (beneficial) and building products (beneficial). • Strong regional geographic knowledge. • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, web based systems. • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation is essential, with transport legislation being an advantage. • Effective communication – written and verbal, computer literacy, numeracy, time management, assertiveness, team working, negotiation, initiative, decision making. • Customer relationship management experience is essential, as is the ability to handle and resolve queries. • Relevant experience in the building industry, and/or with a logistics background (Minimum of 3 Years’ Experience).
