Bench Joiner & Wood Machinist

Bench Joiner / Wood Machinist Wanted! ASC Connections are currently seeking a Bench Joiner / Wood Machinist to join a busy manufacturer in the Southend area of Essex. Our client is a very well established business, with a long history in the local area, and nationally in the marketplace. Due to retirement: they now seek an additional member of the team to join them on a permanent basis. The Role: This role is mixed. At least two days a week will be spent machining, supplying the Bench team with pre-cut materials, from cutting lists. The rest of the week will be bench work, assembling furniture, and veneered products to a high standard. We are looking for candidates who; * Have a good working knowledge of joinery * Have worked with a range of materials, include compressed wood * Can work from a) Cutting lists b) technical drawings * Have a good working knowledge of hand tools, as well as general workshop machinery * Able to work in a target driven environment * Able to work to a high standard * Able to quality check their own work, alongside the QC team Working hours; Working hours are Monday to Friday - days, with overtime available during busy periods.
