Job Type Full Time, 42.5 hrs, Mon – Fri Salary £11.33 p/h Our client seeks to appoint a qualified Carpenter / UPVC fitter on a permanent contract to work on a repairs and maintenance contract. the company are a well-known family run business based in the Dorset area and have a healthy order book for the oncoming years. You must be able to undertake all aspects of Carpentry and UPVC installation to include: • 1st and 2nd Fix Carpentry • UPCV measuring and installation • Glazing • Guttering / fascia • Lock changes Reporting to the Contracts Manager and working alongside our general works operatives, you will be required to measure and survey jobs in the first instance, work from set specifications, update job information in real time or amend incorrect job information whilst ensuring compliance of health and safety & construction design management (CDM) regulations. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate previous experience of working on responsive repair contracts for a housing association, local authority, contractor or previous sub contractor, You must be able to work in a fast paced, pressured environment with the ability to make decisions quickly and 'think on your feet', while working to deadlines and budgetary restraints An overall strong building fabrics knowledge desirable, good communication skills, clean driving license, experience working with SOR's (Schedule Of Rates) preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
