Senior Quantity Surveyor

Experienced Quantity Surveyor required by leading speculative housebuilder to manage the commercial delivery of up to 4 developments across the North East Duties: Our client is leading housing developer with offices and sites nationwide. They are currently experiencing a vast increase in workload, and are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity to join their office in the North East. The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of developments from site commencement to completion and will manage and report on all financial and contractual aspects. You may also be required to provide information for land purchase exercises. Key Activities: • Calculate all the prime costs (house pricing, labour costs, site work operations and remediation work) on developments, reporting any movements in the costs since the preparation of the land purchase exercise. • Procurement of subcontractors in line with the schedule including issuing tender enquiries, detailed analysis of subcontractor quotations • Provide a detailed cost budget and share with Site Manager at the appropriate time. • Site visits to meet regularly with Site Managers as required and monthly with groundworks contractors. • Complete the apportionment of total prime costs to individual plots and produce a profit analysis for the Director. • Use of COINS software to raise subcontract orders, produce subcontractor payments, download monthly cost reports and prepare PFA’s • Monitor and explain subcontractor cost movements. • Undertake valuations of production at budgeted cost on a monthly basis and split the cost of profit completions and potential future profit to estimate a value for work in progress. • Report on savings and excesses against budget costs to the Director. • Forecast final accounts. The candidate: • You will have previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for a House Builder • Finance / Commercial awareness & related management systems and controls • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying • Awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters e.g. Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc. On offer for the successful candidate is an attractive remuneration package including salary, car allowance or fully expensed company car, bonus, health care etc. Please contact Ben on (Apply online only) for a confidential discussion
