Our client is a national award winning civil engineering contractor identified by most principal contractors as their contractor of choice when delivering major construction-based civil engineering packages. With major flagship projects within various sectors of industry across the UK, our client has arguably the best reputation in the sector they operate in. They are always keen to grow their footprint in the Northern market by aligning themselves with key projects in Energy, Build and Government frameworks. A key conduit in making this happen is their Project Managers. The Person You will have a UK degree in Civil Engineering and have committed your career to developing your knowledge of the design, construction and technical elements of delivering civil engineering work. T You should possess a full, rounded understanding of most construction methods within civil engineering and a strong knowledge of the Scottish market. You will be an ambitious, highly driven professional with a keen eye on key sectors of civil engineering within Scotland. Key Tasks and Activities: Create and nurture a positive working environment though engagement with all workforce on site. Chair progress meetings, forge positive links with all subcontractors and principal contractors on an informal and formal basis. Work with Engineering and planning team to seuccefully and realistically plan and scope all future works Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure value is being identified throughout the scope of works while attempting to reduce any lag in the program Ensure quality systems are followed and all associated paperwork is managed both on behalf of the Contractor as well as the client Ensure high-quality, safe and timely delivery within budgeted costs Provide inspirational leadership and manage productivity of the contract/site team Ensure that policies and procedures are followed by conducting audits Take ownership of the Bid proposal, strategy and constraints in order to meet project forecast deliverables and obligations Chair meetings, review and prepare reports, taking full responsibility for all operational and commercial elements Ensure all works carried out comply with Health & Safety and environmental legislation Record keeping relating to site labour, plant, materials, safety, KPIs and environmental records For more information on this post, please contact John Duffus on (Apply online only)
