A major civil engineering contractor has an exciting opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor and to be part of their growth within traditional civil engineering, energy and construction groundworks on a MAJOR power plant project between Teeside and Doncaster Working with the Senior QS, the Quantity Surveyor will have full control of the commercial operations of active sites. Assuming all responsibility for the day to day commercial operations across a number of contracts, procured on variations of the New Engineering and Construction Contract, 3rd Edition (NEC3) as well as variants of the SBCC 2011 form. General duties include cost reporting, cost/value reconciliation, financial forecasting, sub-contractor management, contract administration, Client liaisons, procurement, identification and valuation of varied works, contractual disputes. You will also have responsibilities surrounding mentoring and guiding Assistant and Graduate QS's when required. You will have excellent relationship building attributes and a solid local geographic and industry understanding. With numerous projects throughout the Central Belt of Scotland meaning there will undoubtedly be travel involved. This role should appeal to a degree qualified, profit-focussed, self motivated, Civil Engineering Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in taking responsibility for issues on site and bringing them a positive outcome.
