Quantity Surveyor | London| up to £65,000 plus package
A specialist restoration, conservation and stonework contractor with offices in London are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to initially support multiple major high-end and landmark projects across the Capital and the Home Counties predominantly on listed buildings and historical properties, supporting the Commercial Manager, Commercial Director and Quantity Surveyors and offering guidance and support to the Commercial team.
If you are successful in your application, as Quantity Surveyor you will become an integral member of a dynamic operations team within a company that offer a generous package, a close-knit team, and the opportunity to work on unique, high value projects, as well as a long-term path to moving into a more Senior role.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be studying for their Quantity Surveying degree, and have prior experience acting as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Requirements for this Quantity Surveyor position:
* Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
* Quantity Surveying degree preferred
* Experience working on construction projects
* Full UK Driving License and own car preferred
* You must be personable, articulate and confident to liaise with stakeholders at all levels

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + company car or car allowance + pension
Based at our head office in York, CG Building and Restoration are a forward thinking, pro-active and growing company working in the North and West Yorkshire area.
We undertake a variety of projects predominantly in the residential and historic building sectors. Our business operates by understanding and building relationships with clients, getting to know their requirements, and caring for them.
We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team to work with the Managing Director and Contracts Manager to provide effective commercial and financial management on projects up to £5m.
Candidates must have extensive knowledge of all aspects of general building and refurbishment with experience in the heritage sector desirable. You must have strong commercial skills and the ability to drive projects forward, working with our contracts team to overcome challenges and successfully deliver projects.
Duties & Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
* You must have relevant Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry with the ability of manage multiple contracts at once.
* A full driving licence is essential.
* Be a competent negotiator.
* Have a good knowledge in terms of regulations, current materials, rates, prices along with good commercial and contractual awareness.
* Form and develop relationships with Clients and Design Teams, advising on all matters relating to contract and commercial issues.
* Maintain accurate financial control systems and report monthly on Cost/Value Reconciliation.
* Liaise with and advise on all financial aspects of contracts, ensuring that valuations are maximised, certified and paid on time.
* Carefully manage the administration of subcontractors to create longstanding relationships and promote dispute avoidance.
* Have a good understanding of current CDM 2015 Health and Safety requirements and modern methods of construction.
The position is full time (Monday to Friday). Competitive package includes company car or car allowance and pension, as well as opportunities for further training, development and progression
