Company
Our client is a Building Contractor based in Teignmouth (South Devon) and roughly 8 years ago. The company is owned and managed by three locally born professionals, who have dedicated their lives supporting and working in the local construction industry and community.
They are looking for an experienced Quantity surveyor / Estimator to join our team. They are a busy construction company based in Teignmouth, Devon. Projects mainly consist of Refurbishments and extensions in the education, religion and healthcare sectors ranging from £100k – £1.5m in value.
Duties
- Take measurements and produce estimates
- Preparation of tender and bid documents, including bills of quantities
- Assessment and valuations of variations
- Obtain competitive sub-contractor quotations
- Assist with purchasing materials
- Visit sites to assess progress and compare to plans
- Assist with site preparation activities
- Identify areas of material and labour costs, and provide input on ways to improve
- Provide input on ways to improve the companies environmental impact and waste reduction
The candidate
A successful candidate for this role will have:
- A relevant degree/qualification in Quantity Surveying (desirable, but not essential)
- Minimum of 2 years experience working within the construction industry
- Driving licence and use of vehicle
- Ambitious and self-motivated
- Ability to work in a team and have confidence to have a positive impact on the company
