Working within a busy workshop and supporting drilling operations across the UK, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a wide range of heavy plant, drilling equipment and support vehicles, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and ready for deployment. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain and repair heavy plant, drilling rigs and associated equipment. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults. Carry out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs. Inspect equipment and complete repair reports. Replace and overhaul engines, transmissions, pumps and hydraulic components. Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required. Ensure all equipment meets company safety standards before deployment. Work closely with drilling crews to minimise equipment downtime. Maintain workshop housekeeping and comply with health and safety procedures. Essential Requirements Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Heavy Plant Engineer or Plant Mechanic. Experience working on heavy plant, construction, quarrying, mining or drilling equipment. Strong hydraulic, diesel engine and mechanical fault-finding skills. Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently. Full UK driving licence. Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving. Right to work in the UK. Desirable Experience Experience working on drilling rigs or mineral exploration equipment. Knowledge of Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, JCB, Atlas Copco, Sandvik or Epiroc equipment. Welding or fabrication experience. Electrical diagnostics. LOLER inspection experience. HGV licence (advantageous but not essential).
