Setting Out Engineer Major Civil Engineering Project South Wales 18-Month Programme 320- 350 CIS Day Rate Are you an experienced Setting Out Engineer looking for your next long-term contract on a major UK infrastructure project? Elite Construction Talent is recruiting experienced Setting Out Engineers for a major civil engineering contractor delivering a flagship infrastructure package on a long-term project in South Wales. This role is based in South Wales, approximately 20 minutes west of Bridgend and is looking to recruit experienced Setting Out Engineers to join the team for an anticipated 18-month programme . This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a major project from the early stages, working alongside an experienced delivery team on complex civil engineering and groundworks packages. The Role You will play a key role in the successful delivery of major civil engineering works, ensuring all setting out activities are completed accurately, safely and in accordance with project specifications. Responsibilities Carry out accurate setting out for civil engineering and groundworks activities. Establish and maintain site control. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Produce and maintain accurate site records and as-built information. Carry out QA checks and dimensional control. Liaise closely with Site Engineers, Project Engineers and Site Management. Assist with technical queries and site problem solving. Ensure works are completed in accordance with project tolerances and quality standards. Promote a safe working environment at all times. Experience Required Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects. Strong background in heavy groundworks, reinforced concrete, drainage and infrastructure works. Confident using Leica, Trimble or equivalent surveying equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience completing QA documentation and as-built records. Good communication skills with site teams and subcontractors. Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering. CSCS Card. SMSTS or SSSTS (advantageous). Experience working on large infrastructure, industrial or energy projects. Our client is a well-established compliance and building services specialist delivering high-quality passive fire protection works nationwide. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Passive Fire Engineer to join their expanding team. The Role You'll be responsible for carrying out passive fire surveys, inspections, remedial works and installations while ensuring full compliance with current fire safety legislation and manufacturer specifications. Responsibilities Carry out passive fire surveys and inspections. Install and remediate fire stopping systems. Inspect fire doors, fire dampers, cavity barriers and compartmentation.
